Came here with a friend to a busy line and it was really packed but we got one. of the last two tables. Good: - The egg tofu here was quite good - lots of flavor and not too salty - The staff were really nice - The space is well lit and it's a good quiet place to catch up - The prices are good for the amount you get! - You get a fortune cookie at the end of your meal! Bad: - Took a while for the food to come out - Chicken wings were pretty dry Overall, for the value this was a good place to go to!

This place was great for a group of 6! We got to order several dishes, and they were all delicious. I especially loved the fish and tofu ones... so soft and flavorful! The place is very casual and the service is fast... which means the food comes out hot!

Serving up some classic Cantonese dishes that are great for a group / family style. I came here to get a "snack" and had to try their famous fried wings, which did not disappoint. I was SHOCKED when it came out as ALL FLATS -- what a WIN!!! They were crispy, well seasoned, and even held up well as left overs. The beef chow fun was also incredibly well cooked and not oily. The beef was tender and tasty and the chow fun was soft! I'm constantly on the search for the best chow fun in the City and I think this hits high on the list.

This place is a whole vibe! Looks legit retro like where my elders hang out & food was homey and delicious. Despite Chinatown having a bad rep for rude Canto servers- the staff were incredibly accommodating to our big party needing more chairs, more food, more tea, more water- not rushing us. As a guest, I didn't do any of the food ordering but it was all delicious & well priced. Our local friends knew what to order & it was fast & fresh. Everyone loves the chicken wings of course- but my fave was a tofu dish, and their version of wonton soup. Also pea sprouts for the healthy portion. Will definitely be back

The way they serve you in a timely manner is underated. My friend brought me here to show me the chicken wings, pork chops, and fried rice. I did not leave disappointed. I also love the fact that the workers appreciate non asian folk like myself saying thank you in mandarin .

Things change a lot in eight years. But, most obviously in the past 4 plus years. Up through the change in 2020, the original owners (actually the daughter and SIL) continued the business, mainly doing takeout for the next year or so. After about a year, they decided to sell the business to one of the staff (not sure whether the chef joined). The chef stayed and, otherwise, the change has not been dramatic. At some point after dine-in was not a practical option, the previous owners stopped offering a western food menu; this used to include plate lunches like corned beef and cabbage and prime rib which was actually prepared by the owner who usually only mans the front of the house. Now, the menu has been somewhat abbreviated with mainly Cantonese dishes, a variety of family style options and rice plates for the lunch crowd. They no longer offer a house soup with the meals. I have mainly been getting takeout from here, even through the challenging times in 2020. I'd often ask the lady owner to tell me what live fish were offered by the neighborhood markets and ask her to steam one for my family. The good news is that their staple menu item, the salt and pepper fried chicken wings continues to be available with the same recipe and made by the same chef. They do a brisk takeout business so do be patient when calling or dining in. I cannot comment on the dinner vibe as I only get takeout during the lunch shift. Looking to dine in around noon on a Tuesday at a place up the block, there was a line and I noticed most diners were either eating or waiting for their food. Here, the tables were half occupied but, since I was dining alone, I chose a counter seat near the cash register. I ordered the ox tail and dried bean curd over rice (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=jdscXlA7gbQVyAEtarGzGQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); the flavors were good, a subtle five spice sauce. The ox tail pieces were medium or small pieces which I favor since they are easier to eat. The dried bean curds were tender without being too soft. The only items that I left were the bones, large green onion stalks, and ginger chunks. I was in and out of the restaurant in about 30 minutes, perfect to meet my next appointment. The dining room is pretty much the same as it was ten years ago. The crowdedness for lunch is moderate unless it's a holiday or tourist season. I will continue mainly to get takeout here but won't hesitate to pop in for a quick lunch.

I heard about Capital from friends and everyone says there chicken wings are good. I only ordered the chicken wings to go and they came out in reasonable time. One order comes with 12 good sized wings but they just had way too much salt on them. They were really crispy though. Not sure if would return for them, kinda pricey at $14.xx The restaurant is spacious and clean. Street parking only

Food: 6.5/10 good not wow Service: 3/5 busy and a little rushed but fine Ambiance: 4/5 clean, decent tables and seating I came here to try their famous fried chicken wings, so disclaimer I didn't try most of their other food! I'll be back to try the rest of the menu out. Famous wings! Texture wise the chicken wings were wonderfully crunchy and meaty. I found them nicely salty and peppery but I wish they had a little bit more of a spice rub. There's fried garlic and japapeno with the dish but they're not on the wings themselves so lack flavor and fell flat for me. I wish they had a special sauce on the side then for it instead. The sauces they had were fine with it. Fried squid - plain battered squid nothing special but well fried and served hot and fresh

Capital Restaurant has been in San Francisco Chinatown for as long as I can remember and is a go to spot amongst locals and tourists. They have a decent amount of tables inside for both small and large groups as well as a few counter seats. They serve a variety of dishes with options for sharing with others and also combo plates that come with one item with rice. I've come here on multiple occasions with both large and small groups and have never been disappointed here. Their rice plates are perfectly portioned for a nice lunch with some potential extra space for an appetizer to share. Their noodle, fried rice, and entrees and all well made as well with a simple sort of Chinese comfort food preparation to them. Their most famous dish that a lot of people order is their fried chicken wings. This is their signature dish for sure and is quite simple yet very delicious. It has a light crispy coating seasoned with salt, garlic, and jalapenos. The chicken meat itself is very tender and hot, making it the perfect appetizer to share with others.
